Welcome to ESTS- AutoFit YMM Search

This guide will help you set up your Year-Make-Model search, configure options, and enable the search widget and popup on your store.

1. Setting up YMM Data

Before customers can search, you need to define the vehicle hierarchy.

  1. Go to the Add YMM tab.
  2. Create a Make (e.g., "BMW").
  3. Create a Model under that Make (e.g., "3 Series").
  4. Add a Horse Power variant (e.g., "300HP").
  5. The app will automatically create a Shopify Collection for this combination (e.g., "Parts for BMW 3 Series 300HP").
  6. Go to All YMM Collections to see your created data. Click "Edit Products in Shopify" to add products to these collections.

2. Configuring Search Options (Questions)

You can ask customers "What are you looking for?" before they select their vehicle.

  1. Go to the Search Options tab.
  2. Add options like "Teeth", "Wheels", "Chippers".
  3. Important: Ensure your products are tagged with these exact names (case-sensitive) in Shopify.
  4. When a user selects an option, the search results will be filtered by that tag (e.g., showing only "Teeth" for "BMW 300HP").

3. Embedding the Search Widget

Add the search form to your Homepage or any other page.

  1. Go to your Shopify Admin > Online Store > Themes.
  2. Click Customize on your current theme.
  3. On the left sidebar, click Add Section.
  4. Search for "YMM Search Widget" (under Apps) and add it.
  5. Drag it to where you want it to appear on the page.
  6. Click Save.

4. Enabling the Popup

Show a popup asking "What are you looking for?" when visitors arrive.

  1. Step A: Configure Settings
    • Go to the Settings tab in this app.
    • Set Enable Popup to "Enabled".
    • Choose a Frequency (e.g., "Once per Session").
    • Click Save Settings.
  2. Step B: Activate App Embed
    • Go to your Shopify Admin > Online Store > Themes > Customize.
    • Click the App Embeds icon (3rd icon on the far left sidebar).
    • Find "YMM Popup" and toggle the switch to ON.
    • Click Save.

5. Storefront Features

Enhance the customer experience with "My Garage" and "Product Fitment" badges.

  1. My Garage Bar:
    • Shows a persistent bar at the top of the page with the customer's selected vehicle.
    • Allows quick access to "Shop Parts" or changing the vehicle.
    • Enable this in Settings > Storefront Features.
  2. Product Fitment Badge:
    • Displays "✅ Fits your [Vehicle]" or "❌ Does not fit" on product pages.
    • Enable this in Settings > Storefront Features.
    • You can customize the success and error messages in Settings.
    • Injection Mode:
      • Automatic: The app tries to place the badge below the product title automatically.
      • Manual: Provides a code snippet to copy-paste into your theme (e.g., product.liquid) for precise placement.
  3. Fitment Compatibility Table:
    • Displays a full list of all vehicles compatible with the current product.
    • Enable "Enable Fitment Compatibility Table" in Settings.
    • Requires you to add the Fitment Table block in your Theme Editor on the Product page.
  4. Universal Products:
    • Products tagged with "Universal" will always show "✅ Universal Fit" and never "Does Not Fit".
    • Enable "Enable Universal Products" in Settings.
    • You can customize the Universal Fit message in Settings.
