After successful installation of the app, you will automatically be redirected to the Dashboard.
The Dashboard is your control center. From here, you can monitor:
Total YMM records created
Customer search activity
Recently selected vehicle combinations
App usage insights
Initially, the dashboard may show zero records. This is completely normal.
Once customers start interacting with the vehicle search on your storefront, activity data will start appearing here.
The dashboard helps you understand:
Which vehicle combinations are most popular
How customers are interacting with the search
Overall engagement with the YMM feature
Go to the Settings tab.
Click on YMM Hierarchy.
Locate the “Add New Level” field.
Enter your level name (e.g., Make).
Click Add Level.
Repeat for additional levels.
Click Save Settings.
Before customers can search for products, you must first define your vehicle hierarchy.
YMM stands for:
Year – Make – Model
However, the app allows you to fully customize this structure based on your business needs.
For example:
Make → Model → Horsepower
Brand → Series → Engine Type
Vehicle Type → Manufacturer → Variant
After completing the basic setup, you need to enable the app on your Shopify storefront.
This is a one-time process.
Go to Shopify Admin.
Click Online Store.
Select Themes.
Click Customize (or Edit Theme).
Click the App Embeds icon (3rd icon on the left sidebar).
Find YMM Popup.
Toggle it ON.
Click Save.
Once enabled, the YMM search popup will appear on your storefront.
Customers can now:
Select their vehicle
Click on a variant (e.g., 300HP)
Automatically get redirected to the matching collection
See only compatible products
The app includes several powerful advanced features to improve filtering accuracy and user experience.
This feature allows you to ask customers what they are looking for before selecting their vehicle.
For example:
Teeth
Wheels
Chippers
Engine Parts
Accessories
Go to Settings → Search Options.
Add your desired options.
Click Save.
⚠ Very Important:
Products must be tagged with exact matching names in Shopify.
Example:
If your option is:
Teeth
Then the product tag must be exactly:
Teeth
(Tag matching is case-sensitive.)
If a customer selects:
BMW → 3 Series → 300HP → Teeth
Only products:
Inside that YMM collection
Tagged with “Teeth”
will be displayed.
This ensures highly accurate search filtering.
You can manage, edit, or remove existing vehicle combinations anytime.
Go to Manage Data section.
From here you can:
Delete vehicle combinations using the delete icon
Edit existing entries
Manually add a new vehicle using “Add New Vehicle”
When adding manually, make sure:
All fields are filled correctly
Hierarchy structure is followed properly
This gives you full control over your YMM database.
You can also add detail from this section. Where you need to mention each detail carefully.
My Garage Bar is a special feature that allows customers to save their selected vehicle.
It improves convenience and repeat shopping experience.
Go to Settings → My Garage Bar.
Enable the feature.
Customize:
Label text (Default: “Current Vehicle:”)
Text color
Background color
Icon style
Click Save All Settings.
Once enabled, customers will see their selected vehicle at the top of the store.
They can:
Quickly switch vehicles
Directly access compatible products
Avoid reselecting their vehicle every time
Fitment setting displays compatibility information directly on product pages.
Example:
✔ Fits BMW 3 Series 300HP
This increases customer confidence and reduces return rates.
Go to Settings → Fitment Settings.
Enable fitment display.
Choose display position.
Save settings.
Now compatibility will be shown on product pages.
Universal Setting allows you to mark certain products as compatible with all vehicles.
This is useful for:
Generic accessories
Universal tools
Non-vehicle-specific items
Go to Settings → Universal Setting.
Enable Universal option.
Add the Universal tag to desired products.
Save settings.
These products will now appear regardless of vehicle selection.
